If you want semi-expensive you should try Fogo De Chao. It's a brazilian gaucho restaraunt where they walk around with 27 different cuts of meat. $50 a plate, but it's all you can eat, so come hungry.Well worth it and they valet for free. The staff is also very attentive. The Atlanta FISH Market (about $25/plate) has some of the best seafood that you can find within the city, try the crab cakes. If you're looking for a fun, less expensive restaraunt with great "everything" from sushi to seafood to sandwiches, Twist offers some of the best. It's a very hip, young, social scene with good music and great people.

Sotto Sotto/Fritti (comparable proprietor) are the two quite intense-high quality...top up interior the line in Inman Park is Loco Lino...that is...an adventure (nutrition is respectable, too). Veni Vidi Vici is particularly darn reliable. Maggiano's is reliable and sturdy - yet attempt some thing much less chain-y...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Varsity yet. It's like an Atlantan tradition. I've always liked this restaurant. It's medium for prices and there is no dress code. Just eat and chill out! Hope I helped!

For Chinese/Japanese/Sushi, you gotta go to Mo Mo Ya/Golden Buddha on Roswell Rd. It's awesome, reasonably priced and very clean!!

Mary Mac's Tearoom is really good. It's affordable and it's casual/dressy attire. Also, Cheesecake Factory is good, but kind of pricy.

I am not going to give you one because like trying to pick one favorite song when there are so many genres of music ther are so many types of restaurants, but here are two greats.

Pizza-Fellini's- It's great food (Fresh, natural), great atmosphere, a number of locations (On Ponce, on La Vista, On Howell Mill) and cheap, also if your interested, cute waitresses (A generally friendly staff).

General Good Food Place -Pangaea- It's a little out of the way (Huff Road, which is a road off of Howell Mill Road right after 14th street) but it is worth finding this place. It is very odd, eclectic food, once again no dress code and pretty cheap.

Have a great time trying these two places and it will cost you less than 25$, even if you take a friend.

Oh yeah, I also always liked to grab lunch at the Whole Foods on Ponce.
